    Cancun is located on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico and is a popular American vacation spot, as well as a well-known spring break destination. The warm weather makes vacationing and relaxing on the beaches of Cancun a perfect choice. Many people visit the city during the winter months, December to April, because that's when the weather is the best there.

  • Cancun Attractions

    Beaches are the main attraction for anyone visiting Cancun, as with most spring break destinations. The water is clear and warm and the view is spectacular. There are so many beaches available, that it's just a matter of what type you are looking for. There are private resorts that offer their own beach fronts just for guests, some beaches are out of the way and a bit more rough then the waters off the main coastline and then there are the favorite, local beaches, which a majority of vacationers and locals can be found. Various Cancun vacation packages are available through many travel vendors.

    Some of the more historical sites to visit while in Cancun are the Mayan ruins, such as Ruinas El Rey and El Meco. Both tell an excellent story of early Mayan civilization, but most are located just outside the city.

  • Activities

    There are a large amount of activities in Cancun, something for everyone. Watersports are quite popular and include snorkeling, scuba diving, boating and deep sea fishing. Swimming with the dolphins is a very popular activity in the area and many tour companies can this up for tourist.

    On land, one can take tours through the jungles of the surrounding areas with four-wheel drive vehicles and even all-terrain vehicles. Mexico's low prices make shopping fun and enjoyable; Cancun offers over 2,000 shops with everything from everyday necessities to native, handmade crafts.
