  • In Call of Duty World at War, Weapon Challenges are mini-objectives that unlock experience and weapon upgrades. Multiple challenges are available for each weapon.
  • Call of Duty World at War Killer Challenges

    Killer Challenges are similar to Weapon Challenges except that the task is always to kill a certain number of enemies in a certain way. Killer Challenges also usually apply to an entire weapon class as opposed to a specific weapon types within a class. For example, killing 100 enemies with pistols will grant you a Killer Challenge regardless of which pistol type you are using.

    Other types of Killer Challenges require you kill enemies who are already downed, kill enemies with thrown grenades and more. Some Killer Challenges ask you to "gib" enemies, or, kill them by completely blowing them to pieces. The best weapons for "gibbing" are explosives like grenades, a PTRS-41 Sniper Rifle and most light machine guns. Each Killer Challenge is worth 100 experience points.

Completing any of the different kinds of challenges in Call of Duty World at War can help the player level up by gaining experience.
