First Strike is a map pack DLC developed by Treyarch for the first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops. The map pack was released on February 1, 2011 for Xbox 360, and will become available on March 1, 2011 on PlayStation 3 and PC.http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/First_Strike

Just like the video game, the map pack was published by Activision. First Strike can be purchased for 1200 MS Points on Xbox 360, and $15.00 on PC and PS3. The map pack includes 4 multiplayer maps and one zombie map, called Ascension. Discovery is one of these multiplayer maps, and Mahalo’s Video Games Team created a series of educational videos which will teach players how to play Call of Duty: Black Ops on this map. The videos were published on YouTube with the purpose of revealing tips and tricks that can be used on Discovery, in order to dominate a multiplayer match.

On Discovery, the teams that will be fighting are the Black Ops and the Soviet Armed Forces. The action takes place in the Antarctic area near a German outpost; therefore this map features snowy terrain. To quickly access this map on PC, players can type the codename mp_discovery. The map is divided in two parts which are connected through an ice-bridge. The bridge can be destroyed during a match, which means that this is an interactive map.http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Discovery

Discovery is a medium map, focused on medium to long range fights. Using a grenade launcher, the player can destroy the bridge; however this doesn’t mean that the opposing team can’t reach the player’s base.
