Call of Duty Black Ops provides a Single Player Mode that offers a dual-perspective story. The game also features a Multiplayer Mode with Co-Op options (for up to 4 players) and the usual Online Mode. Using the motion capture technology and two war veterans to share their experiences as special-forces units, the games puts players behind the enemy lines. In addition to that, they use the IW Engine and utilize the Create-a-Class 2.0 option allowing players to customize their own characters. http://www.gamerzines.com/ps3/news/black-ops-four-player-co-op.html
Time Period and Setting
In an interview for Game Hunters, Mark Lamia, Treyarch’s studio head, explained why the action in the game takes place after WWII and during the Cold War:
"This setting, this period, was perfect for us because it allowed us this creativity. This period hasn't really been done in games and it spans a period of time. We are not getting into the exact period of time, because it is part of our story that we are going to reveal later, but it does cover a longer period during this era."http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gamehunters/post/2010/05/more-on-call-of-duty-black-ops-with-treyarch-studio-head-mark-lamia/1A demo level for Call of Duty: Black Ops was shown to Game Hunters during their interview.
