Prior to the release of Call of Duty: World at War, producer Noah Heller indicated that it would be the last release in the franchise to focus on World War II.
That Video Game Blog has now reported that an anonymous industry resource has divulged that Activision is in the process of licensing "Vietnam War era" songs in addition to Cuban, African, and Soviet Union music.That Video Game Blog: Call of Duty 7 in Vietnam, Cuba? (May 1, 2009)
This information about licensing music from such a diverse range of locales has fueled speculation that the CoD release to follow Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will take place within a Vietnam War or Cold War setting for the seventh installment of the popular series.
Activision reps for the Call of Duty franchise declined to comment on the rumors.
