Call of Duty 3 is the third first-person shooter video game in the Call of Duty series to take places in World War II. The third installment to the popular Call of Duty series this game was released November 7, 2006. Developed by Treyarch this installment is modeled after the Normandy breakout where coalition forces moved in the village of Chambois, France.
The character positioning adds realism of gameplay. Whether you are standing, kneeling or prone, each of these stances will affect your accuracy, stealth and rate of movement. The game allows a player to select a class of soldier and a team and even includes an online mode where players participate in a single match. This is a move away from the previous sequels where players simply selected a team and weapon and went into battle.
Call of Duty 3 Review Quote
"And with that said, to sum up Call of Duty 3 would be to say it's a mixed bag. The single player game, on the one hand, feels rushed, with bugs all over the place, ropey AI and cut scenes that can't be skipped; on the other hand, it offers some lovely missions and action. Multiplayer is Call of Duty 3's saving grace. Lag-free (24 player) online games, classes and some good (although large) maps with vehicles makes Call of Duty 3 a worthy purchase after all." - Richard Meerman, GameStyleGameStyle: Call of Duty 3 Review (November 10, 2006)
