Calin Chi Wong was arrested on April 3, 2008, after authorities learned that he was planning on carrying out a Virginia Tech style shooting. The 20 year old from Florida first drew the attention of the police, in February of 2008, after he complained to them that he had been robbed of $800 when trying to purchase a gun online via PayPal. He then posted a message on the internet, on March 25, 2008, stating that he planned to carry out a massacre. When the police searched his home just two days later, they found 13 firearms and 5,000 rounds of ammunition. He was arrested and charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily injury via the computer.
