The California State Lottery sells lottery tickets for the state of California that helps fund public schools within the state. Their official website is at www.calottery.com. Since 1984, the purpose of the CA Lottery was to generate money and funding for the CA public schools. The funding allocation was setup as 34 cents of every one dollar that is spent on lottery tickets, is to go to public schools. The lottery funds go to Kindergarten - 12th grade schools, community colleges, the University of CA, adult and charter schools.
