This is the travel page for Cairo Restaurants. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and is full of many different types of restaurants. Egyptian-type cuisine is the main food option available, and can be sampled at the Abou El Sid restaurant in the neighborhood of Zamalek. For a bit of an Indian twist on dinner, try the romantic setting of Kandahar. Western and Asian foods are usually found in the budget restaurants. There are many McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken's and Pizza Huts spread throughout the city. If you want to try cheap, authentic Egyptian cuisine, try the Felfela chain. Travelers should keep in mind that because of current health concerns, drinking tap water and eating unpeeled fruits and vegetables is not advised.
