History
Caesars Casino first began as two different gaming ventures located in the same area: Casino Windsor and a riverboat casino called the "Northern Belle" that was steamed up to the Detroit River from New Orleans on a barge. The two entities merged into what was then called Casino Windsor at the permanent location, which was considered Ontario's first Las Vegas-style casino in 1998.http://www.caesarswindsor.com/casinos/casino-windsor/casino-misc/company-history-detail.html
It wasn't until 2008 that Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., bought an interest in Casino Windsor, invested in numerous renovations and new features, and renamed it Caesars Windsor. Now it competes with Detroit's MGM Grand and Motor City casinos for the region's gaming business.http://www.caesarswindsor.com/casinos/casino-windsor/casino-misc/company-history-detail.html
