Cadbury Schweppes was a company that produced confectionery products and non-alcoholic beverages, from 1989 to May 2008, when it demerged and became Cadbury plc and Dr Pepper Snapple Group, two separate corporate entities. The split was made along the lines of candy and soda, as Cadbury plc is mainly involved with confectionery and candy and Dr Pepper Snapple Group is concerned with the North American beverage market, including the products Dr Pepper and Snapple. The demerger is intended to create a larger market share overall for the two companies.
