Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011 is a hunting video game released on October 26, 2010 and is available for the Wii, PS3 and X-Box 360 consoles. All the entries are based on big game hunting that occurs across the globe but usually finds its way to Africa. The prey in question is usually an extremely lethal animal, such as a lion or grizzly bear and players must rely on reflexes and accuracy to survive the expedition. The story modes range from family hunting trips to being stranded in the wilderness and being forced to kill to survive.

The Rainsfords, an estranged father and son, go on safari in Africa after a tragic accident ten years earlier. The reunion quickly turns from recreation into a means of redemption when they encounter villages terrorized by man-eating animals. The situation escalates further when the two are stranded in the wilderness with only their instincts and survival training to keep them alive.

Game Modes

There are 2 modes available for gameplay: Gallery and Story.

1. Gallery Mode: There are 3 shooting gallery options: Classic, Survival and Trek. The objective of each of these is to earn the highest score possible without being defeated.
2. Story Mode: You travel across the globe to learn the secrets of the Rainsford family and hunt the most dangerous man-eaters in nature. There are 12 missions that must be completed before the story can be finished.

Multiplayer

There are two modes available in multiplayer: Versus and Hot Seat.

1. Versus: Play against a friend at the same time; for 2 players only.
2. Hot Seat: For up to four players, this mode is designed for one controller to be rotated between multiple players.

Hunting Sense

If you are not using the Top Shot Elite, then hunting sense is what you use to to detect important objectives and clues in story mode. If you are using the Top Shot Elite, then you are only required to look through the red lens attached. This ability can be used regualry and only during story mode.

Gameplay Hints and Tips

1. Gaining experience or a high score in either gameplay mode will unlock new galleries to be played.
2. Look for journals or tapes throughout the level to gain experience and obtain practical survival information.
3. Always keep in mind the limitations of your weapon. A shotgun reloads after two shots and a rifle reloads after three.
4. If you use the Top Shot Elite and change seating positions, make sure you re-calibrate the controls.
5. Whenever you are in an area thick with tall trees, long grass or tall rock formations, turn on your hunter sense to detect lurking enemies.
6. Collect trophies mid-battle to acquire health or XP.
7. An animal will go down much quicker if you shoot it in the head or upper chest.
8. Use your shotgun for flocks of attacking flying animals.

Gallery Power-Ups

1. Slow Motion: Slow time down for 10 seconds.
2. Rack 'Em: Infinite ammo for 10 seconds with no reloading.
3. Double Points: All scores and penalties are worth double for 10 seconds.
4. Marksman: Hunter sense is activated, making all animals glows for 10 seconds.
5. First Aid: Restores health.

Gallery Hints and Tips

1. Use your shotgun for birds and your rifle for everything else. Using the wrong firearm will drop your score.
2. Shooting the doe will drop your score.
3. Complete combos for higher scores by shooting animals without missing each time. As soon as you miss your combo is over.
4. You can use the First Aid power-up without losing your current power-up.
5. Look for uniquely colored animals to hunt for extra points.
6. Target values are based on range speed and type of animal.

1. Shoot three icicles off the ledge directly above you.
2. Shoot three hanging fruit off the tree directly in front of you.
3. Equip the shotgun and shoot the geese flying overhead.
4. Walk forward along the trail and duck under the branch at the end, then continue following the Rainsfords ahead.
5. After the cut scene, follow the trail ahead of you until you're on a snowy hill, then activate Hunter Sense.
6. Follow the slope downhill and forward until you are in front of a fallen tree in the corner of the area.
7. Standing with your back to the center of the tree, aim your rifle at the cluster of rocks furthest from you and scan that area until you see the buck.
8. Move forward if you have, then take out the buck with a head shot and move towards the corpse.
9. After the cut scene, move forward down the trail and turn left, then continue you along the trail until you reach the mountain ledge.
10. Move right along the mountain ledge, then go forward downhill and make a right at the bottom.
11. After the cut scene, aim at the cougar and shoot the heart in the middle of its body when it lunges.
12. After the cut scene, turn around and take the trail left of the large dead tree.
13. Follow the trail until you see a cluster of rocks to your left and move towards them.
14. Move the cross hairs back and forth across the red arrows to avoid the stampeding elk.
15. Walk between the rocks and continue forward until you reach the ledge, then turn right.
16. Follow the path uphill, then walk under the fallen tree and take a right into the campsite.
17. After the cut scene, go behind the rock that's sitting in front of the younger Rainsford and look down to examine the grizzly tracks.
18. After the cut scene, move forward to walk up the mountain ledge and follow it around to catch up to the Rainsfords and finish the chapter.

1. Move forward through the trench and follow the trail right until you reach the rock ledge.
2. Move left along the side of the ledge until you reach the bottom of the hill, then move forward between the trees.
3. Follow the trail ahead of you, then take a left and continue along the trail.
4. Move forward between the rock trench to activate the cut scene.
5. Afterwards, take out the two wolves by the carcass and turn right around the corner of the giant rock, then continue forward until you reach the grassy area.
6. Make a left around the rock and continue forward up the trail, then take out the three wolves.
7. Move forward between the stone archway until you reach the edge of the rock, then go left.
8. After the cut scene, move left around the corner to get through the opening in the rock wall, then take a right.
9. After the cut scene, continue around the corner to the right and take out the pack of wolves. Keep as much distance as you can and eliminate them with the rifle.
10. Move to the broken gate within the stone archway and open it, then continue forward.
11. Make a left between the gates and take out the wolf ahead of you, then continue forward.
12. Take out the pack of wolves with Skill Shot, then turn around and take out more attacking wolves.
13. Head to the broken gate within the archway to open it, then move right to follow the frozen river. Avoid the black cracks so as not to fall through the ice.
14. Make a left when you reach the unfrozen water and get back onto land then follow the path through the brush to the right.
15. Eliminate the pouncing cougar, then make a left to get up against the tree line and follow it right.
16. Make a left to take the frozen river, then move right onto land to go around the fallen tree and get back onto the river. Use your Hunter Sense to locate the bear traps on the river and on the land, then use your weapon to trigger them.
17. Move right around the large crack in the river, then move slightly right to go around the fallen tree.
18. Get back onto the frozen river, taking out bear traps as you go, then take a right toward the rock trench.
19. Before entering the trench look up and to the right. You will see the cougars head poking out from behind the rocks.
20. Eliminate the cougar, then move forward through the trench and take out the cougar sitting on the rock above you to the left.
21. Move forward through the trench and take out the cougar on your right, then continue through the trench and make a right around the corner.
22. Look to the rock above you to the right and take out the cougar, then continue forward through the trench and enter the clearing.
23. Take out the cougar ahead of you, then continue left around the frozen river and take out the pouncing cougar that comes out of the brush to your left.
24. Move toward the trench ahead of you and take out the other cougar, then enter the trench.
25. Take out the pouncing cougar and continue forward into the clearing, then follow the frozen river to the left.
26. Take out the cougar sitting on the rock above you to the left, then continue following the frozen river.
27. Take out the two cougars on your right and continue following the river around to the right, then enter the rock trench.
28. Follow the frozen river into a more narrow rock trench to activate the cut scene.
29. Afterwards continue through the narrow rock trench to enter the clearing, then make a right when you reach the tall grass ahead of you.
30. Move towards the full moon and follow the path around to the right, then around to the left to enter the open field.
31. Move forward across the field to activate the cut scene.
32. Afterwards, avoid the lunging wolf and continue across the field, then make a right at the river's edge.
33. Take out the attacking wolves until you are attacked by the large black one, then continue forward to reach the tree line and finish the chapter.

1. Keep as much distance from the bear as possible.
2. Use you rifle or other weapon to shoot the grizzly in the heart when it stands up on its haunches.
3. You inflict damage on the bear at the any time while it is running at you or away from you.
4. Some times when the bear attacks it will initiate on-screen dodge indicators. If you complete half of the on-screen instructions, then shoot the bear in the heart when it rears up to attack.
5. If the dodge indication is not activated, move sideways to avoid the attack.
6. There are health packs and rifle rounds scattered around the edge of the area.
7. When the grizzly's life is far enough down, a dodge sequence will initiate. Complete the dodge sequence and shoot the bear in the heart to defeat it and end the chapter.

1. Move forward along the bank of the river and make a left to enter the pathway cut into the tall grass.
2. Follow the pathway until you reach the edge of the river, then turn right and take out the snakes on the ground in front of you.
3. Continue along the path, taking out snakes as you go, then turn right and enter the pathway cut into the tall grass.
4. Make your first right, then follow the path and make a left when you drop into the water.
5. Follow the path around until you reach the river's edge, then make a left and continue forward.
6. Pick up the shotgun by the carcass and make a left, then take out the snake on your right and the vultures who attack from above.
7. Drop down into the water and take the path to your left, taking out any snakes on the banks beside you.
8. Move slightly to the left to get back on land and activate the cut scene.
9. Afterwards move forward to the edge of the river and take out the crocodile across the way, then turn right to take the path.
10. Enter the swamp and go around the fallen tree to your right, then follow the stream left.
11. Take out the crocodile on your left and continue following the stream, then take out the two crocodiles on your right.
12. Continue following the stream around to your right, then take out the crocodile in front of you.
13. Continue following the stream around to your left until you reach the body of water, then make a left back onto land.
14. Follow the path and take out the lunging crocodile, then continue forward down the path.
15. Take out the group of crocodiles to your right, then move slightly left to get to higher ground.
16. Take out the group of crocodiles ahead of you and to the right, then move towards the windmill.
17. Take out the crocodile to your right and make a right when you reach the rock face, then take a left at the fallen tree.
18. Move towards the building and climb the steps, then enter the door to your right to pick up supplies.
19. Exit the room and make a right, then follow the path to the right.
20. Make a left when you see the abandoned car and take out the snakes ahead of you, then enter into the open field.
21. Move forward down the road until you see the vultures on the carcass, then take a right to activate the cut scene.
22. Afterwards, eliminate the lunging cheetah, then move further down the road and take out the other cheetah.
23. Move down the road toward the two trees on either side and take out the cheetah in the tree to your left on the branches above.
24. Look right in the branches above to take out the cheetah and continue down the trail, then take out the cheetah in the tree to your left.
25. Make a right when you reach the end of the clearing and take out the cheetah in the tree ahead of you.
26. Make a left and take out the cheetah in the tree ahead of you, then go left around the corner and take out the cheetah in the tree to your left.
27. Continue forward towards the abandoned car and take out the two cheetahs in the trees to your right.
28. Continue forward to reach the car, then make a right to reach the body of water and move right along its edge.
29. Take out the cheetah and continue along the water's edge, then take out the cheetah in the tree to your right.
30. Continue along the river's edge until you can make a right towards the large rock formation in the distance.
31. Follow the trail around to your left to activate the cut scene.
32. Dodge the first cheetah, then after the cut scene dodge the hippo and follow it through the pathway cut in the grass around to the right.
33. Move forward towards the wrecked boat, then dodge the hippo and follow it around to the left along the pathway.
34. Continue following the path, then dodge the hippo and make a left when you reach the river's edge.
35. Continue forward and take out the crocodile on your right, then turn slightly right to head up the path.
36. Take out the crocodiles on your left and right and continue down the path.
37. Take out the crocodiles ahead of you, then turn left at the cave to cross the land bridge.
38. Take out the crocodiles ahead of you, then continue forward up the path and make a right at the fork in the road.
39. Dodge the stampede, then continue forward and make a right when you reach the dead tall grass.
40. Make a right at the fork in the road, then take out the attacking vultures and continue along the path.
41. Take a right at the fork in the road, then take a right at the next two forks and dodge the hippo.
42. Make a right and move towards the river, then make a left at the edge and continue through the path cut in the tall grass.
43. Take out the snake on your right, then make your first left onto a path until you reach water and make a left.
44. Follow the path, then dodge the hippo and turn around around to continue down the path.
45. Take out the snake on your right, then turn right at the rock face and make another right to re-enter the pathway.
46. Turn left when you reach the water and make a right when you get to the the rock face.
47. Turn left at the river's edge and move towards the boat remains, then take out the lunging crocodile.
48. Move to the boat to pick up the radio receiver and end the chapter.

1. Move forward along the river's edge and make your first left, then another left.
2. Move forward down the trail and enter the clearing, then move right around the trail to enter the pathway cut into the grass.
3. Take out the charging cheetah and make a left at the fork in the path, then make a right at the next fork.
4. Make a left at the fork in the path and take your first right, then make a left around the pathway until you reach a herd of wildebeest.
5. Follow the wildebeest, then take out the attacking lionesses and dodge the male lion to eliminate him.
6. Continue through the clearing, moving through the pool of water, and take out the lioness on your right.
7. Continue down the path and take out the lioness who charges from the left.
8. Take out the lioness who charges ahead of you, then continue down the path into the clearing.
9. Take out snakes on the ground on front of you and move forward through the clearing, then make your first left.
10. Continue taking out the snakes, then cross through the swampy area and eliminate the snake to your left.
11. Take a right when you reach the carcass, taking out any vultures you can as you go.
12. Continue following the path until you see a building on your right, then move up the steps to your right.
13. Enter the building ahead of you to acquire the crossbow and other supplies.
14. Move through the building and exit through the door on your left, then move slightly to the right and around the corner of the rock face.
15. Take out the attacking lioness ahead of you, then continue down the path and take a right at the fork.
16. Continue forward up the trail and move around the rock face to your right to take out the two attacking lionesses.
17. Continue forward towards the large rock formation and take out the three lionesses who attack from the right.
18. Take a right when you reach the rock formation on top of the hill, then move left around the hill's base.
19. Enter the clearing and move forward to activate the cut scene.
20. Afterwards, take out the attacking lionesses, then dodge the lion and eliminate him.
21. Continue forward down the trail, moving left around the rock face, and head towards the grouping of rocks above you in the distance.
22. Take a right at the fork in the path and then another right at the fork.
23. Make your first right and take another right at the fork in the path to continue towards the grouping of rocks in the distance above you.
24. Move slightly to your left to move between the two rock faces and eliminate the lioness that attacks from behind.
25. Move right to exit the from between the rock faces and drop down to face a herd of wildebeest, then follow the trail around the pile of rocks.
26. Move right around the corner and take out the lionesses in the trees ahead of you.
27. Move forward and take a left to pass through the two rock formation and uphill.
28. Make a right along the path and take a left to continue following the path, then make a right to reach the edge of a cliff.
29. After the cut scene, take out the pouncing cheetah.
30. After the cut scene, move forward through the rock trench until you reach a clearing.
31. Take out the attacking cheetahs and continue forward through the clearing and move between the two rocks, then around to the left.
32. Take out the cheetah in the tree directly ahead of you, then make a right when you reach the tree.
33. Take a left when you reach the dirt road and move towards the upended truck, then make a left down the road.
34. Take out the two cheetahs in the tree ahead of you, then continue down the road and take out the cheetahs sitting by the trucks.
35. Move to the driver's side door of the truck on the left, then enter it to end the chapter.

1. Equip the pistol or rifle for fewer reloads.
2. Shoot the wildebeest that charge at you in the head to either kill them or give the truck enough time to get away.
3. Pick up ammo at the first checkpoint.
4. Continue fending off wildebeest until you reach the burning trees, then pick up the ammo.
5. Continue fending off wildebeest that approach through the dirt cloud. You must take out any that can come near the truck, not just the ones coming directly at you.
6. Pick up the health at the checkpoint, then pick up the ammo after losing sight of the poacher's truck.
7. When the truck stop still, take out the two charging wildebeest on the left. then pick up the ammo.
8. Continue fending off the charging wildebeest, until you drive into the water, then pick up the ammo.
9. Eliminate the lunging cheetahs when you exit the water.
10. Eliminate the cheetah in the tree above when you turn back on the road, then pick up the ammo at the checkpoint.
11. After the cut scene, take out the charging wildebeest ahead of you.
12. Fend off the charging rhinoceros until it moves behind the wall, then continue fending it off when it reappears after the walls end to finish the chapter.

1. Equip the crossbow.
2. Stay as far away as you can from the rhino and shoot it at a distance with the rifle or crossbow.
3. Keep to the walls of the area to pick up health packs and extra ammo.
4. When the rhino charges keep firing at it and moving sideways to avoid a straight on collision.
5. After the rhino charges it will return to the center of the area and pace around for a moment. Use this opportunity to shoot it as many times as possible before it charges at you again.
6. If you are given the indication to dodge, shoot the rhino immediately after it misses you to get some close range shots in.
7. Defeat the rhino to finish the chapter.

1. Move forward up the trailer, then take a right at the rock formation and move right around the charging wildebeest.
2. Take a left around the corner of the rock face and follow the trail. Stay on the blackened areas to avoid being burned.
3. When you come to an area on fire, make a right around the corner and follow the blackened trail.
4. Make your first left to enter the grass and take the path cut through the middle to eliminate the attacking cheetah.
5. Continue down the path and take your last available right, then take out the cheetah that jumps out in front of you.
6. Take the left path in the fork and make your first left after that to enter the clearing and start the cut scene.
7. Afterwards, fend off the lionesses with your rifle. Before they lunge at you, they will stand still for a moment. Use this as your opportunity to eliminate them.
8. After you eliminate the first wave of lionesses, the male lion will run by with three new ones. Fend these off until you are attacked from behind by the male lion.
9. Shoot the male lion in the heart in Skill Shot mode, then turn around and take the path behind you.
10. When you reach an area covered with fire and make a left, then make a left at the tree and move forward until you can make a right at another tree.
11. Move in between the scorched lines into the grass then turn around down the scorched path to your right.
12. Follow the scorched path to the fire then turn around and take the scorched path on your right.
13. Continue forward, moving left against the wall and follow the trail in front of you.
14. When you reach the clearing with the tall trees in the center of it, take out the cheetah in the first tree to your left and the two cheetahs in the first tree to your right.
15. Continue forward between the trees and take out the two cheetahs in the tree to your left.
16. Continue forward, moving slightly to your left as you move and take out the two cheetahs in the tree directly in front of you.
17. Continue forward between the rocks and the trees and follow the trail to your left.
18. When you see fire on your left enter the trench to your right, then make your first left.
19. Follow the road and avoid the wildebeest stampeding in from your right. You can also shoot them if you want to clear a path.
20. When you are under a tree on the right side of the road, eliminate the lunging cheetah and continue forward.
21. Eliminate the three cheetahs in the tree ahead of you, then continue down the road until the wildebeest charges straight toward you.
22. Move slightly to the right to avoid the stampede and continue down the road.
23. As you come around the corner look up and to the left and eliminate the lionesses on the rocks above.
24. Continue down the road and take out the two attacking lionesses on your right.
25. Continue down the road and avoid the stampeding wildebeest on your right until you cross a bridge.
26. Continue down the road on the other side of the bridge and enter the rock trench.
27. Exit the rock trench and follow the trail to the large steel doors to start the cut scene.
28. Afterwards, take out the first wave of charging lionesses with your rifle. They will come from directly in front of you.
29. Aim slightly to your right to small hill, because the second wave of lionesses will come from this direction. Take the opportunity to eliminate most of them before they can get close enough.
30. Turn directly to your right, because the third wave of lionesses comes from that direction. Defeat the third wave to finish the chapter.

1. Turn around and go through the door on your right, then climb down the stairs in front of you.
2. Turn around and exit the room, then head right to take the trail.
3. Take out the snake on your left and right, then continue down the trail.
4. After you go around the corner, take out the cheetah in the tree to your right and the snake below that tree.
5. Continue down the trail to the telephone poles, then pick up the rifle and take out the cheetahs in the tree in front of you.
6. Move slight to the right of the tree you shot the cheetahs out of and move down the path ahead of you.
7. Take your first right, then take out the snakes to your left and right and continue down the trail.
8. Take out the snake on the other side of the fallen tree then continue forward.
9. After the cut scene, take out the two monkeys in front of you, then move to the doorway on the left side of of the building.
10. Take out the two monkeys by the door and enter into the building, then go left.
11. Climb the staircase on your right, then move through the doorway on the top floor.
12. Drop through the hole in the floor ahead of you.
13. After the cut scene, shoot the monkey who comes in the window to your left, then back up against the wall so that you are facing the windows.
14. Take out any monkeys who come in through the windows. Your new rifle is the best option for eliminating them quickly.
15. After the cut scene, enter through the door the last monkey burst through and walk through the hallway. You can enter the doorways on your left or right to pick up ammo and extra life.
16. When you reach the kitchen turn right and climb over the table blocking the doorway, then make a left.
17. After the cut scene move forward towards the exit and take out any monkeys who drop down from the ceiling as you go.
18. Exit the room and take a right to activate a cut scene.
19. Afterwards, take a right and go down stairs, then take a left.
20. Activate your hunter sense to locate mines and shoot any that are in your way.
21. Move towards the stack of barrels, then turn right to move through the cement barricade and the shack.
22. Pick up the audio tape in the center of the road, then continue down the trail slightly to your right.
23. Continue shooting mines as you go down the trail until you come to building, then enter is.
24. Go up the stairs to your right and enter the doorway in front of you.
25. Go onto the balcony and pick up the audio tape to activate the cut scene.
26. To protect Mbeki, use your rifle to shoot the invading monkey off the tower he's occupying. You may need to use three rapid shots on a single monkey just to make sure it's down. There are 3 areas they will invade from: They railing on the left side of the building, the only visible doorway and from the tree above. If you are not yet proficient enough to cover all three area, then focus on the railing as the most monkey come from that direction and it's easiest are to hit.
27. After you have saved Mbeki, go down the ladder on the right side of the balcony and move forward to the tower, then enter it from the right side.
28. After the cut scene, pick up the key in front of you, then turn around and take your first left.
29. Enter the building and make a right, then take your first left.
30. Make a right then go down the stairs in front you and make a right to unlock the doors.
31. Approach the valve in the center of the room to finish the chapter.

1. Move forward through the tunnel, then take your first left.
2. Activate your hunter sense to take out the mines in front of you and move through the tunnel ahead.
3. Make your first available left and enter the storage room, then make your first right and pick up the explosives off the barrels.
4. You can pick up ammo and health off the shelves in the room.
5. Move to the the door in the back of the room and place the explosives on the valve handle.
6. Back up as fast as you can and wait for it to explode, then move through the recently destroyed doorway.
7. Make a left towards the glowing red light and turn on the generator, then turn around to open the gateway.
8. Move along the walkway and take out the bats coming from in front of you, then rappel down the rope when you reach the end.
9. Move out into the water move right, then make your first available right and take out any snakes in your path.
10. Make your way to the ladder at the end of the cavern and climb up it.
11. Move forward and cross the bridge, then enter the cave ahead of you and turn on your hunter sense.
12. Take out any of the mines in your path and continue through the cave until you reach larger cavern.
13. Continue along the edge of the cave wall, taking out the bats who attack as you go.
14. Enter the cave ahead of and eliminate the snakes in your path, then take a left at the fork.
15. Continue taking out the snakes in your path until you reach a more brightly section of the tunnel.
16. Turn right and rappel down the rope, then take out the bats as they attack from below.
17. Move forward after you drop down and continue through the tunnel until you reach a cavern covered with cave paintings.
18. After the cut scene, move left and through the opening in the cavern wall, then take out the dog that lunges from the right.
19. Continue through the cave until you reach a large cavern and take out the dogs that emerge from the opening in front of you.
20. Move to the left side of the cavern and move along the edge of the cave wall, taking out the bats who attack from the left as you go.
21. Take out the dogs in front of you and to your right, then enter the cave on the back wall to the right.
22. Follow the cave until you reach water, then take out the bats who attack in front of you.
23. Continue through the cave until you reach a cavern filled barrels, then move to the ladder to finish the chapter.

1. Make your first left and exit the building.
2. Move to the circular pattern in the floor and keep your sight on the kaftar at all times.
3. Shoot at it whenever possible, preferably with one of your rifles.
4. Move sideways around the edge of the circular pattern to avoid being attacked and shoot the kaftar whenever it misses and retreats to the wall.
5. If the kaftar grabs your arm, quickly shoot it once, then shoot it again when grabs ahold of your leg.
6. There are health packs and ammo refills by the exhibits and the fireplace.
7. When the kaftar's life is low enough it will grab your leg and arm, but then it will rear up to reveal its heart.
8. Shoot the kaftar through the heart to end the chapter and the game
