History of Cabbage Patch Kids
In 1978, Xavier Roberts and his company, Original Appalachian Artworks, Inc., began producing handcrafted dolls called "Little People", the original name for the Cabbage Patch Kids. Each doll came with it's own birth certificate and was very unique because it had been crafted by hand. The doll first sold for $30, but as they became more and more popular the prices increased sometimes selling for $300.http://www.cabbagepatchkids.com/about/milestones/
