  • Byron Ritchie is a professional hockey player who plays for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League.

After being drafted by the Hartford Whalers during the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Ritchie spent the majority of the next seven years playing in the American Hockey League, although he was called up for a total of 33 NHL games for the Carolina Hurricanes, which the Whalers became upon relocating in 1997.

In early 2002, Ritchie was traded to the Florida Panthers, where he would spend the next three seasons again splitting his game play between the AHL and the NHL. Prior to the 2005-2006 season, Ritchie signed with the Calgary Flames as a free agent. He spent two seasons with Calgary, and reached his career high of 14 points in 68 games during the 2006-2007 season.

During the off-season, in the summer of 2007, Ritchie, again a free agent, signed with the Vancouver Canucks.
