Byron Leftwich is a professional athlete in the National Football League. He is currently a quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2008, he was a back-up Quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In his first 11 starts in the NFL, Leftwich was able to attain a passer rating of 89.3, which was in the top ten among all quarterbacks in the league. Having conflicts with head coach Jack Del Rio, Leftwich left for the Atlanta Falcons on February 15, 2008. On November 3, 2008, Leftwich led the Steelers to a victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. Leftwich threw two touchdowns when starting QB Ben Roethlisberger left the game with an injury to his throwing shoulder.
