Positions
Representing a state in which he has a large contingency of Native Americans, Dorgan has chaired the Indian Affairs Committee, and fought to advance the interest of rural America. He has also supported measures that create well-paying jobs in North Dakota as well as establish stronger farm politics. For example, in 2007 he was in favor of a measure that would allocate emergency aid for farmers in the amount of $3 billion.
