Burt Lancaster

Burt Lancaster was an American actor known throughout the 1950s and 1960s, first as a sly tough guy, and later in his career as an adventurous performer, willing to take unlikely roles. One of his most famous film moments is his beach embrace scene with Deborah Kerr in From Here to Eternity.

Career

Lancaster was a circus acrobat before pursuing his acting career. He first won the NYFCC award for Best Actor for From Here to Eternity. He won an Oscar and the NYFCC award for the 1960 film Elmer Gantry. He passed away on October 20, 1994, after a heart attack.
