  • Burt Bacharach is a popular songwriter, composer, and pianist known for such works as Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head and That's What Friends Are For. His work has produced many top hits over the past fifty years of his career. Bacharach got his start at a young age while going through school in New York City and taking piano lessons. During the earliest phase of his career, Bacharach worked as accompanist and conductor for Marlene Dietrich. Eventually he established himself as part of a major songwriting duo with Hal David. Together the pair enjoyed a string of 39 consecutive chart hits for Dionne Warwick. Bacharach wrote many classic songs including "Walk On By", "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head", "What's New, Pussycat", "The Look of Love" and "What the World Needs Now is Love."
