Burnout Paradise Walkthrough contains walkthroughs, guides and FAQs for Burnout Paradise as they become available. Burnout Paradise is the latest installment in the classic car-crashing Burnout series. The game is one of the first to be available for only next-generation consoles. Much like its predecessors, Burnout Paradise is mostly about driving vehicles at high speeds while creating havoc on tracks and roadways. The game is set in the fictional city, "Paradise City," and the theme song "Paradise City" is performed by Guns N' Roses. The game features no loading times and no game menus. It received above-average ratings from video game critics.
Burnout Paradise is a racing video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on January 22, 2008. On February 6, 2009, Electronic Arts released Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box, an enhanced version of the original game that contains the downloadable contents Codename: Cagney, Burnout Bikes and Burnout Paradise Party.
Gameplay
Unlike the other games, Burnout Paradise takes place in the fictional city of Paradise City. The player evolves in an open world and may start races at any time by getting at an intersection and using the accelerating and brake buttons at the same time. Winning races will unlock new cars that will be available at a junk yard. By defeating opponents with takedowns, making stunts and driving at high speed, the car of the player can fill up a boost gauge that will allow it to boost its speed for a certain amount of time.
Within the city, the player can visit paint shops to change the color of the car, gas station to automatically fill the boost gauge, or repair shop to repair the damaged vehicle.
Different types of race are available:
-Race: The player has to get from point A to point B and finish first.
-Road Rage: The player has to do a certain amount of takedown to win the challenge.
-Stunt Run: Within a short period a time, the player has to collect points by doing stunts.
-Marked Man: The player has to get from point A to point B while being chased by opponents that are trying to take him down.
-Burning Route: This is the same as the Race except that each of the Burning Routes are designed for one specific car.
-Showtime: Press LB and RB to start Showtime that will allow the player to bounce his car in order to crash cars, create chaos and earn money.

Burnout Paradise Walkthrough - Tips
General
- Look for the special item in Paradise City and break them to get bonuses. There are 120 billboards (easy to spot in red), 400 smashes (the yellow fence when you find a shortcut). Breaking all of them will unlock new cars so open your eyes while driving in the city
- There are also 50 Super Jumps to perform. The Super Jumps can be spot by the blue-glowing fence before a ramp. Use your boost to jump high enough to succeed.
Race
- Even though you start the race at several intersections in the city, the destinations are always the same. There are eight different destinations: Lone Stallion Ranch (South-est), the Wind Farm (West), The Observatory (North-west), The Country Club (North), the Coastguard HQ (North-east), the Waterfront Plaza (East), the Wildcats Stadium (South-east) and the Naval Yard (South).
- Opponents never use shortcuts so spot them along the road and try to grab the first position by using them.
- The higher your license is, the tougher your opponents are.
Burning Road
- There is a Burning Road race for each of the cars of the game. Winning a Burning Road will unlock a better version of that car.
- Time limit is often tight so no mistakes are allowed. Use your boost and spot the shortcut to get to the destination on time.
- The Speed cars are the most difficult challenge and you cannot beat the timer if you don't use your boost at some point during the race. If you crash, replay the race.
Marked Man
- Marked Man are races where the only goal of your opponents are to take you down.
- Depending on your license there are more or less car trying to take you down.
- Depending of the strength of the car, you can be taken down a few times before losing the race. The Speed type cars are the weakest and it will take two or three hit to break it. Agression cars are the best for that kind of race as they are heavier and more resistant that the other types.
- Taking down your opponents while racing is a good way to be left alone.
- There are 15 Marked Man races on the map. They can be done at any time. The number of opponents will depend on your license.
Road Rage
- Take down a specific number of opponents to win a Road Rage
- There are 16 Road Rage races on the map. They can be done in no special order. For the first race, you will need to take down three opponents. For the next race, four of them. It then go up, more opponents need to be taken down for each race. The highest number is 30.
- When you take down a car, you will get a 10 seconds bonus.
- Aggression cars are the best choice for that type of race, but do not take Speed cars as they are too weak to compete well.
Stunt
- In Stunt race, you will need to get a certain amount of points by performing stunts in a short period of time.
- There are 14 different Stunt races on the map. You can start them in no specific order. The amount of points needed to win will always be higher in the next race.
- Look for ramps to perform your stunts.
- You can also drift as long as you can
- Breaking billboards, Super Jumps, barrel rolls or big air will grant you multiplier, so look for them and focus on that.
- Stunt cars are obviously the best for that kind of race.
- Keep your boost during the race to restart the combo timer. A big combo will grant you more points. If you crash, the combo is over and the points are added to your score.
Burnout Paradise Walkthrough - Cars
In Burnout Paradise, 77 cars can be unlocked through beating events and getting licenses. There are three types of cars:
- Speed type: these cars are fast but light and easy to take down and to wrecked. The Boost Gauge fills in faster when you are at high speed.
- Stunt type: it is the average type of car, good for speed and take down. The Boost Gauge fills in when stunts are performed.
- Aggression type: the heaviest type of car and the strongest, these are perfect for takedowns. The Boost Gauge fills in when taking down opponents.
