Hot on the heels of the release of the Legendary Cars Pack, Criterion Games announced the upcoming Boost Special DLC for their racing game Burnout Paradise, which was released on March 12, 2009.

There are two cars available in the Boost Special Pack: the Hawker Mech and the Carson Extreme Hotrod.

Criterion has stated that the Carson Extreme is "the fastest car in Paradise City – a stripped down, ultra low, overpowered straight line monster." Based on a 1920s Roadster, the hot rod handles more intuitively and reacts more realistically than the other cars in Burnout Paradise. The car also has a different boost system from other cars and shoots out blue exhaust flames to prove it.Criterion Games: Burn Baby Burn (November 21, 2008)

The Hawker Mech started out as a British sports coupe that was transformed by a secret government research center with access to alien hybrid bio-technology and a limitless budget. The Boost Specials Pack was made available for purchase on March 12, 2009.

Burnout Paradise is a racing game developed by Criterion Games and released in January 2008. It is the seventh title in the popular Burnout series that began in 2001. Although dubbed racing games, the Burnout series is best known for its crash modes in which players attempt to create spectacular crashes or cause their opponents to crash. The cars take damage accurately and are realisticallly crippled after a crash.
