Burnout 2: Point of Impact

  • Guide Note:

Burnout 2: Point of Impact is the sequel to the racing game Burnout. Much like its predecessor, Burnout 2: Point of Impact is all about driving vehicles at high rates of speed while causing over-the-top vehicle crashes. The game was first released for the PlayStation 2 and then later released for the GameCube and Xbox with added features. More vehicles were available for play, including international and sport-utility vehicles, police cars and 1950s hot rods. The game received above-average reviews from video game critics. Most of the tracks and cities in the game are from the United States, although some of the names are changed.
  • Gameplay:

There are several modes in the game: Grand Prix, Pursuit Races, and Crash Mode. The general gameplay is much like Burnout, players start out by racing around a track. Players can gain speed by avoiding all of the obstacles, thus obtaining boost. Players can gain points by colliding with other vehicles or obstacles on the track.

    • Xbox version: While the three versions are mostly the same, the Xbox version includes an online scoreboard, so players can see how they stack up against other competitors in an online leaderboard. The PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions do not have internet capabilities.
