Burning Man is an annual festival that promotes "radical self-expression," "self-reliance" and "community values" through various forms of art, music, performance and architecture.

Because Burning Man takes place in a desert, it is recommended to pack for all extremes: extreme heat, extreme cold and extreme winds. Attendees must bring their own food, water and shelter.

1. Water (up to a gallon per day suggested)

3. Camping equipment
4. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm
5. Clothing for both very hot and very cold temperatures
6. Hand sanitizer
7. Dust mask
8. Earplugs (loud music may be played all night)
9. Costumes/toys--whatever "expresses your creative spirit"
