    The sandstorm, which caused a complete whiteout, began on August 25, 2008, shutting down one of the entrances. Winds settled during the week, but picked back up on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Several attendees left early, missing the ceremonial burning of the wooden man-shaped effigy.
