Ali Rose escapes the confines of her small town with ambitions of making it big in Los Angeles. Upon her arrival, she discovers an underground burlesque dance venue, and is quickly enthralled by the burlesque style of dance. She receives a job as a cocktail waitress at the venue, and studies the dancers as she makes her rounds. She gets brutally rejected by the club owner Tess until she witnesses her vocal talent, and Ali earns her spot as a burlesque dancer within the club.
