One of the largest outdoor music and arts festivals in the United States, the Seattle-based Bumbershoot brings together a large variety of musical artists, dance and visual arts events and even comedy within a unique hybrid of expression.
History
Bumbershoot began in 1971 as a small arts and music festival that took place on one Saturday. By the second year, the festival became a massive success, stretched into five days, and drew on some of the top musical acts in the United States. Each year more events are added. Highlights include a soap box derby, clown classes, and dancing.
