Story
In Bulletstorm, it’s the 26th century and you take the role of pirate Grayson Hunt, a former Confederate operative turned outlaw. He’s a pirate who likes to drink, cuss and upset everyone around him. Grayson is upset with his former boss, General Sarrano. Grayson attacks Sarrano’s ship and crash-lands on Planet Stygia. While searching for a way off of the planet, you do battle with the General’s forces and many outlaws and mutants.
Review Summary
Bulletstorm seeks
to shake up the genre with innovative weapons, over-the-top dialog and a whole
lot of ways to kill people.
After crash landing on Planet Stygia, this is when the fun
begins. Planet Stygia is overrun with
outlaws and mutants that be can killed in a myriad of ways. This includes feeding them into man-eating
plants, kicking them into helicopter blades and shooting them in the crotch,
then kicking their head to make it explode.
You have to give extra respect for a game that gives you additional
points for being hammered while you kill people.
As you master the skill-shots, you rack up skill points that
you may then spend on an amazing array of weapons. You’ll need to watch the video above to learn
about the Leash and one of the biggest weapons, the environment.
Mahalo gives Bulletstorm
a 4.5 out of 5.0.
Critic Reviews
In IGN’s Editor Arthur Gles’ review, he tells us that Bulletstorm is actually something kind
of special. While it may be “brash, it’s
still full of toilet humor, but with context, Bulletstorm is a violently charming popcorn shooter that plays well
with some great design.”http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/115/1151242p1.html
The presentation of the game was awarded an 8.5 because it does a great job of establishing a reality and sticking to it. Arthur Gles also gives the graphics 8.5 and says that Bulletstorm “sets a new standard for UE3 games, with brilliant color and great lighting.”
Overall, it received high marks with an 8.0 out of 10 and Arthur Gles is excited to see where Grayson and Bulletstorm go next.
