Bug Repellent

  • Bug repellent is a spray or lotion applied to the skin or clothing which discourages insects from nearing. when applied to the skin, the bug repellent covers the human scent with a scent that is not liked by insects. Bug repellent is also sold in the form of candles, lights and sound. Many bug repellent candles contain Citronella oil. Sound bug repellents give off an inaudible, high-frequency sound through ultrasound production. Light bug repellents work by attracting bugs in the dark, sending a shock which kills them when they near.

    Bug repellent should not be placed in the eyes. In case of accidental exposure to the eyes, rinse well with water. Refer to the literature with your specific bug repellent for further instruction.
