Budweiser and Bud Light are the most popular beers in America. Founded in 1876 by Anheuser-Busch, the traditional Budweiser is a pale lager-style beer made with rice and barley malt. Its alcohol content by volume is 5% (lower in some states.)
Nearly half of all beer sold in the United States is of a Budweiser brand.
Budweiser Advertising
Budweiser beer advertisements have been prominent on American television for decades. In the mid-1990s, the company introduced three frogs that would respective say "Bud", "Weis" and "Err". A series of other animal creatures were subsequently added to the campaign.
In the early 2000s, Budweiser commercials featured a series of beer-enthusiasts saying "Wasssuppp?" to each other and indicating their fondness for Bud. Budweiser is the "official beer" of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
