In this video, Mahalo wedding experts Dana LaRue and Hunter Stiebel show you how to have a wedding on a budget by making your own centerpieces.
Themed, Edible Centerpieces
Save money on your wedding by making your own centerpieces. Ones that match the theme of your wedding or dinner and have edible elements are great. For example, if you're planning on serving a lage spaghetti dinner at your reception, you can make a basket like the one pictured above.
Get a large, woven basket, line it with a colorful piece of fabric and fill it with themed elements like baguettes, butter, olives, assorted cheeses, a cheese grater, fresh herbs, crackers, grapes, a bottle of wine and a wine opener. For the smaller items like the olives and butter, you can reuse baby food jars to package them before placing them in the basket.
You can also use this type of centerpiece for your wedding shower or rehearsal dinner.
