Buddy Miles played drums with Jimi Hendrix in The Band of Gypsys and also released albums with his band The Buddy Miles Express. He helped kickstart an Eighties phenomenon when he became the voice of the California Raisins for all their popular commercials.

Background
Buddy Miles began playing drums at the age of 12 in his fathers Bebop jazz band. As a teenager he played in a variety of soul and blues acts. Most notably with Wilson Pickett and The DelfonicsIn 1967 Miles moved to Chicago where he formed Electric Flag with guitarist Mike Bloomfield. After the Electric Flag disbanded Miles started his own band, The Buddy Miles Express.
