Career Overview
Buck 65 started his career as DJ Critical on CKDU, a college radio station in his native Halifax, Canada. While rapping under the moniker "Stinkin' Rich," he recorded and released a five-song cassette under the title Chin Music.
By 1996, he had adopted the name "Buck 65" (though the origins of the nickname are unknown) on his cassette-album Language Arts. More independently-released albums would follow, the majority eventually re-released once Buck was signed to Warner Music Canada in 2002.
Buck 65's subsequent recordings, until 2007's Situation, did not receive an official release in the United States despite being released in Canada on a major label.
