19-year-old Bryan Mort is one of three people who died after a shooting near Niagara, Wisconsin on July 31, 2008. Mort, along with eight other young people, was swimming in the Menominee River when 37-year-old Scott Johnson, dressed in camouflage and armed with an assault rifle, opened fire on the group. 17-year-old Tiffany Pohlson and 18-year-old Anthony Spigarelli were also killed in the attack, and 20-year-old Daniel Louis Gordon was wounded.
Johnson was captured and arrested after an extensive search of the area by law enforcement officers. After entering and then withdrawing an insanity plea, Johnson pleaded no contest to the murders and has been convicted on 10 felonies. He will serve a mandatory life sentence, though his eligibility for parole has not yet been determined
