Bryan McCabe is a Canadian professional hockey defenseman currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League.
McCabe was drafted by the New York Islanders during the second round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He represented Canada in the 1994 and 1995 World Junior Championships and was named the tournament's top defenseman in 1995 before joining the Islanders for the full 1995-96 season.

NHL Career
After being traded to the Canucks partway through the 1997-98season, McCabe spent a year and a half in Vancouver before joining the Chicago Blackhawks for the 1999-00 season.McCabe was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in October of 2000 and would prove to be instrumental in the Leafs playoff runs of the next four seasons. He was nominated for the League's top defenseman award, the Norris Trophy in 2004 and was also named to the NHL All-Star team for his first time. During the 2005-06 season, McCabe earned a career high of 68 points in 73 games. In October of 2008, McCabe was sidelined after fracturing a vertebrae.
