  • NHL Career

    Allen was drafted fourth overall in the 1998 NHL Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. He made his NHL debut with the Canucks in 2000 and split his first few professional seasons between the Canucks, their International Hockey League affiliate, the Kansas City Blades, and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. During the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, Allen played in the Russian Super League for the Khimik Voskresensk. He returned to the Canucks blue line in 2005 before he was traded to the Florida Panthers on June 23, 2006. Allen renewed his contract with the Panthers on June 13, 2007, to stay in Florida for an additional five years.
