A cargo plane at the Brussels Airport, in Belgium, crashed and broke in two while trying to take off on its scheduled flight to Bahrain.
Firefighters were at the crash site, but the plane did not catch fire. Four of the crew suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized.
How It Happened
When the pilot heard the loud noise, he tried to land the plane. The plane then cracked in half near the tail and slid 325 yards, almost hitting residential houses and a rail line. There is speculation that the crash could have been caused from a tire blowing during takeoff or that one of the engines blew.
What Was it Carrying?
The plane was carrying 76 tons of diplomatic mail, a car and batteries.
