  • Bruschetta is an Italian dish made traditionally with country bread and olive oil. In modern cuisines, it is frequently topped with spicy red peppers, tomatoes, vegetables, cured meat and mozzarella cheese.

    1. Set oven to broil.
    2. Arrange the slices of bread on a baking sheet.
    3. Mix together the olive oil and garlic powder in a small bowl.
    4. Brush onto the slices of bread.
    5. Cover each piece of bread with tomato slices.
    6. Sprinkle with cheese to taste.
    7. Drizzle just a bit of the olive oil over the cheese.
    8. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.
