Recent Bruno Controversy
Sacha Baron Cohen's character Bruno tricked former Mossad agent and Israeli consultant Yossi Alpher during an interview which was intended for the discussion of Israeli and Palestinian relations. During the interview, Bruno confused Hamas with hummus and asked why a political movement and a food were named the same. The interview then continued with a string of other comical questions. Alpher later wrote in The Jewish Daily Forward that Cohen had "exploited our tragic and painful conflict in the most cynical and deceptive manner."Forward: What Kind of Interviewer Confuses Hamas and Hummus?(June 30, 2008)

Former presidential candidate Ron Paul reportedly makes an unexpected cameo in Bruno. In the scene, Bruno attempts but fails to seduce the congressman in a hotel room.
