The characters in Brothers In Arms Hells Highway are what separate it from other World War II games, according to its developers. "We're talking about real soldiers, people from history," said the game's director, Jeramy Cooke. - Holland is an experienced soldier who survived the Normandy invasion. He lost half his original squad in combat and will not watch any more of his men die.
Cpl. Sam Corrion
- Age: 27

- Corrion was a corporal before the Normandy invasion and has not been promoted. He was a foreman at his saw mill in civilian life and resents the lack of authority.
PFC Mike Dawson
- Age: 27
- Hometown: ?
- Preferred weapon: M1A1 Thompson
- Dawson was a pathfinder for the 502d PIR in Normandy, but is new to the squad. He is highly superstitious, something that other members of the squad don't like.
Pvt. Frank Laroche
- Age: 19
- Hometown: Pennsylvania
- Preferred weapon: M3 "Grease" Gun
- Franky is a replacement soldier with no combat experience. Still, he is a natural with almost any weapon. He is eager to rush into action.
PFC Jack Courtland
- Age: 26
- Hometown: California
- Preferred weapon: M1A1 Thompson
- Courtland became a paratrooper dreaming of glory, but now just wants to get back home.
Cpl. Tom Zanovich
- Age: 39
- Hometown: ?
- Preferred weapon: M1918 B.A.R.
- Zanovich is older than the rest of the group and a former mercenary in the French Foreign Legion. His combat experience lets him remain good natured even in the worst fighting.
T/5 Nathan Holden
- Age: 23

- Holden is the new radioman on the squad. He is a clever tactitian, but questions orders and falls apart when things get bad.
S/Sgt. Joe "Red" Hartsock
- Age: 26
- Hometown: Laramie, Wyoming
- Preferred weapon: M1A1 Thompson
- Hartsock was previously Baker's corporal until he was promoted to sergeant after Carentan. Baker understands that men die in combat, although he does try to minimize casualties.
