About the Museum
The Brooklyn Museum of Art is the second largest art museum in New York City, located in central Brooklyn. It houses a variety of art collections from Ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary and modern art. It is half an hour from mid-town Manhattan and 15 minutes from downtown Brooklyn. Half a million people visit annually.

Public Tours: check out the Calendar on the Brooklyn Museum of Art website for current tour schedules, which are free, including the Gallery Tour, Curator Talks and the Moonlight Tour.c
Audio Tours: another free feature, these are available for the permanent collection exhibitions American Identities, The Arts of Africa, Egypt Reborn and The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago. Audio guides feature excerpts from interviews with Museum curators and staff, artists, outside experts and members of the community. Audio tours can be accessed by cell phone, iPod, iTunes U and online.c
