Judges Comments
- Randy: "I definitely think this kind of music suits your voice. You could make an album like this. I don't know if that was a stellar performance, there was some pitch problems and sometimes you rushed the music a little bit but it was alright."
- Paula: "Brooke what's great about you is you're consistent. You are who you are and you put your heart and your soul into each song you pick. I think that's what record companies and executives want. You are excellent and wonderful."'
- Simon: "I totally disagree with Paula, because I think what was lacking on that song was any emotion. It looked like you were busting your way though the song. I thought all of you looked very odd together as a group. It wasn't one of your best performances and I wasn't very crazy about it."

- An hour to get through nine performances plus mentoring from Dolly Parton -- this should be a jam-packed, speedy show. If Paula cooperates and stays terse for once, that is. And Ryan keeps the April Fool's jokes to a minimum (one would be nice). Her greatest song (I think), Jolene, is the musical bed for the Dolly tribute. Brooke snags Jolene to sing, depriving David Cook of the chance to rock it up. Smart girl. It's a solid version, lacking the edge of desperation that Dolly gave it, but Brooke has too sunny of a disposition to pull that off. I have a feeling this is going to rank pretty high at the end of the night, when compared to the rest. Nice ending, too. Randy thought it was a bit rushed but all right. Paula says she's consistent and connected. Simon tries to rush Paula along, but it doesn't work. He then says it was lacking in emotion. Paula yammers annoyingly.
