Skydiver Brooke Baum, of Newport Beach, California, was killed on Friday, December 26, 2008, after her parachute failed to open during a jump at the Perris Valley Skydiving facility, at Perris Valley Airport in Riverside County, California. Baum, age 33, fell to her death after jumping out of the airplane at 12,500 feet. Baum was pronounced dead on the scene, in an open field on Goetz Road, in Perris, California.
