Brooke Astor was a New York socialite and philanthropist. Astor died on August 13, 2007, at the age of 105. Frederick Hafetz, a defense attorney for Anthony Marshall, argued in court on April 28, 2009 that Mrs. Astor had initially intended to name Marshall as the sole benefactor in her will, but hadn't because she disliked her son's third wife. In November 2007, Anthony Marshall and his attorney, Francis Morrissey Jr., were indicted on a multitude of charges, including conspiracy, grand larceny and forgery. In 2006, Brooke Astor's grandson, Phillip Marshall, accused his father, Tony Award-winning producer Anthony "Tony" Marshall, of neglecting Mrs. Astor's care.
