Major League Baseball starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo currently plays for the Cincinnati Reds. In addition to playing baseball, Arroyo also plays in a band and released a solo album, Covering the Bases, in 2005.
Baseball
Arroyo was drafted in 1995 by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but did not make his Major League debut until 2000. He then went to the Boston Red Sox before the 2003 season, where he improved his numbers and became a starter. He was a member of the Red Sox World Series championship team in 2004. Arroyo was traded to the Cincinnati Reds prior to the 2006 season for Wily Mo Pena. Arroyo would have a productive year and make his first NL All-Star team. In 2007, Arroyo signed a contract extension with the Reds through 2011.
Music
Arroyo is also an accomplished musician. He released his debut album in 2005, which contains covers of song from bands Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters. The also contains original songs from Arroyo.
