Brock Lesnar is the current Heavyweight champion in the UFC. Lesnar was to be headlining UFC 106 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas November 21 but withdrew from the fight due to illness. He is expecting to return to the UFC sometime this summer.

Lesnar announced that he would start a mixed martial arts career and had his first fight in 2007 for the K-1 promotion. He defeated his first opponent, Min Soo Kim, by submission. Lesnar then signed with UFC and had his first fight on February 2, 2008. Lesnar was defeated by Frank Mir via submission in the first round. Lesnar had his first win in the UFC octagon on August 9, 2008, in Minneapolis Minnesota, against Heath Herring.
