Britney Spears is an American pop singer and general entertainer. Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi in December, 1981 but was raised in the state of Louisiana. Spears came to US national attention by appearing in the national TV program “Star Search and subsequently in Disney Channel's TV series “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” from 1993 to 1994.

• In August, 2006 Spears appeared nude on the cover of Harpers Bazaar
• On October 1, 2007 Spears lost custody of her children to Kevin Federline
• In January, 2008 Spears was hospitalized due to the mis-use of an unknown substance
• In April, 2009 Spears declared her support for same-sex marriages
