On April 17, 2008, pop singer Britney Spears was ordered by Los Angeles judge Reva Goetz to pay nearly $400,000 to the numerous lawyers involved in her ongoing affairs. Her legal affairs include an ongoing custody battle with ex husband Kevin Federline to regain custody of her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline. She lost custody on October 3, 2007 after charges were filed against her for hit-and-run and driving without a valid California license. Her father James Spears was given co-conservatorship of her assets following two hospitalizations for mental evaluations and treatment in January of 2008.
Payout
Spears' court-appointed lawyer Samuel Ingham will continue to get $10,000 a week from Spears. Co-conservator Andrew Wallet was awarded an advance of $100,000. The firm that represented Spears' father, James Spears, was awarded a $175,000 advance. A lawyer representing Spears' brother, Bryan Spears, will get $22,500 and Spears' new divorce lawyer Stacy Phillips will receive $75,000. Spears was recently ordered to pay $120,000 in legal fees to her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
