Britney Spears is known for her many outfits and costumes, starting with her debut single "One More Time", when she dressed provocatively and controversially as a schoolgirl. When putting together a Britney Spears costume, some people choose to make their own with clothes from second hand stores or their own closet. However, costumes that are already made up from costume retailers are available both in stores and on the web. Some of Britney's costumes are a little harder to replicate than others. One of the simplest is her school girl costume and one of the most ornate is the ringmaster costume.

During 2009, Britney Spears undertook her "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" tour. During this tour the ringmaster outfit became quite popular. This outfit consists of a tailed red coat trimmed in glittery trim. The shoulders are large and padded with black faux fur decorating each side. Black sequined shorts are worn along with black fishnet stockings. Add knee high, high heeled boots and a whip. If you want you can add the hat which is a large and fur covered. Britney never wore the hat for long on the tour as it seemed quite heavy and awkward. Going with a blonde wig would work as well.

Britney Spears has also worn a sexy Police Officer costume. Spears wears black fishnet tights and either knee high boots or black strappy high heels. The shorts are black with zippers. A body suit bottom would would for the short, skin tight look. The police shirt sports a badge and is usually tied at the front or tucked into the shorts. The shirt is kept loose and open and a black narrow tie is worn partially undone. A pair of handcuffs are attached to the shorts and a hat is added. Brittney like to have a large sequined B on the front of her hat. Don't forget a blonde wig with plenty of wild curls to complete the look.

Perhaps the most famous costume for Britney Spears is the schoolgirl costume. This costume became a worldwide phenomena in 1999 when Britney Spears released the worldwide debut smash hit single "Baby one more time".

To put together this costume requires a short skirt of dark coloring such as black or dark blue, a white button down shirt, and a gray sweater. Put on a pretty bra or camisole and tie the shirt tight up under the bra, undo the buttons to show a glimpse of the bra. Put on the gray sweater and roll up the sleeves of the white shirt to the elbows. Add knee high white socks and black penny loafers to complete the look. For the hair, do two low pony tails.

Britney Spears has dressed up in numerous occasions in a glamorous Indian costume. This custom has the look of a traditional belly dancer. What is needed is a gold sequined top and a skirt that is gold on the top and a flowing blue material for the skirt. Gold chains can be draped from the top or around the waist. Gold sandals help complete the look. The head dress is also gold with a has a larger front head piece with the rest wrapping around the hair.
