Britney Spears was involved in a minor automobile accident around 8:20 PM on April 12, 2008, in Los Angeles. No citations were issued in the incident, in which Spears' car ran into the car in front of hers, which then collided with the car in front of it. Spears was reportedly given a field sobriety test however, which she passed.

According to one witness, Spears was applying makeup while driving, when the accident occurred.

Spears has been involved in several other car related incidents. On September 26, 2007, it was reported that she was involved in a traffic crash while being chased by paparazzi, injuring other drivers. Spears has was also involved in a 2007 hit-and-run, and has been photographed driving with her son on her lap.
