    On June 7, 2009, the BNP won its first ever seat in the European Parliament, a body whose very existence the party opposes. The BNP candidate, Andrew Brons, took the seat from Britain's center-left ruling party, Labour.     The membership list of the British National Party was leaked onto the Internet in Mid-November, 2008. The list was reportedly from 2007 and contained many former members and inaccurate names.
