    Bright Eyes is an Omaha-based Indie-Folk band featuring singer-songwriter Conor Oberst, multi-instrumentalist Mike Mogis and a rotating lineup of local musicians.

    On June 15, 2009, it was announced that both Oberst and Mogis would be teaming up with M. Ward for a project under the name 'Monsters of Folk.' The trio will release an album under that name on September 22, 2009.http://strangeglue.com/news/oberstjamesward-team-up-for-album/10005164

  • Background

    Oberst began writing and recording songs at an early age and released his first album while still in high school. After starting Saddle Creek Records with his brother, he assembled a group of musicians to back him on the first Bright Eyes record. Since then, the band has released a number of critically acclaimed albums. Oberst, meanwhile, has formed various side projects, including Desaparecidos and his most recent, The Mystic Valley Band.

  • Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band

    In February of 2009, Oberst announced his latest plans for the Mystic Valley Band, which released their debut album Conor Oberst last year. The follow-up, Outer South, will hit shelves on May 5.
